There has been a growing interest in patient functioning, its role in schizophrenia treatment, the related assessment scales, and the outcomes. We wish to organize Personal & Social Performance Rating Scale training seminar that will highlight the concept of improving functionality in patients with Schizophrenia and the role of psychiatric rehabilitation services.

All participants (Psychiatric doctors & GP in partnership programme) will receive a Personal & Social Performance Calculator which is an easy and convenient tool in administering the patient assessment.

CME point application is in process, pending approval.

Content:

1. Functionality Attainment in schizophrenia treatment

2. Personal and Social Performance scale as the measurement tool in assessing patients’ clinical improvement with scoring exercise

3. IMH rehabilitation services and programs

4. Job Club– A one-stop center in addressing the vocational needs of persons with psychiatric abilities. The Job Club program and services hope to demonstrate that with appropriate and adequate intervention and preparation, person with psychiatric disability can become a productive citizen and can ultimately achieve independent living in the community

Doctor Philip Levy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his internship, internal medicine residency, and fellowship in metabolism and endocrinology at Michael Reese Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He was a research fellow in endocrinology at Guy’s Hospital Medical Center in London, England. Doctor Levy is board certified in Internal Medicine, Metabolism and Endocrinology, and Nuclear Medicine.

Doctor Levy is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and is Chairman of the Section of Endocrinology and Metabolism at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. He has been on the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association and is currently serving on the Board of Directors of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists. He is a fellow of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists as well as a member of the American College of Physicians, the Endocrine Society, the American Diabetes Association, and the American Thyroid Association. Doctor Levy was Vice President, then President of the American College of Endocrinology, from 2002-2004.

Doctor Levy is on the editorial board of Endocrine Practice. He has been on the editorial board of Clinical Diabetes and served as Editor-in-Chief of Diabetes Forecast for five years. He has served on numerous committees of the professional endocrine societies. In May of 2000, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists presented the Yank D. Coble award for distinguished service to Doctor Levy.


Interpersonal Psyhotherapy Workshop with

A 3-day workshop
IPT is an empirically valid psychotherapy that primarily draws on attachment theory. Despite its credentials, it remains at the margins of clinical practice.

This introductory course will outline the basics of IPT and encourage you to consider how it may be useful in your clinical practice. The course will focus on the theory and clinical application of IPT, the structure of IPT, assessments, patient selection, interpersonal inventory & formulation, IPT techniques, and problem area including interpersonal disputes, role transition, grief & loss and interpersonal sensitivity, amongst other important aspects of basic IPT.

This course will help you get started on using IPT effectively in your clinical practice.
